  • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
  • Is  a non-selective systemic  herbicide for control of all types of grasses & broad leave weeds in maize (minimum tillage).
  • Struggling with Stubborn Weeds in Your Farm?
  • Uncontrolled weeds such as couch grass, sedges, annual grasses, and broadleaf weeds are among the biggest challenges facing farmers in Kenya and across East Africa.
  • MODE OF ACTION
  • Glyphosate is a systemic, non-selective herbicide in Herbicide Resistance Action Committee HRAC Group 9. Glyphosate acts by inhibiting 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS), a key enzyme in the shikimic acid pathway responsible for the synthesis of essential aromatic amino acids. This inhibition disrupts protein synthesis and other vital metabolic processes required for plant growth and survival. Glyphosate is absorbed through foliage and translocated throughout the plant to actively growing tissues, including roots and shoots. Susceptible plants gradually cease growth, develop chlorosis and necrosis, and eventually die.
  • Effects Of These weeds:
  1. Compete aggressively with crops for nutrients, water, and sunlight
  2. Reduce crop establishment and vigour
  3. Lower yields and crop quality
  4. Harbor pests and diseases
  5. Increase production costs due to repeated control measures
  • Crops and Areas Of Use
  1. Maize (minimum tillage systems)
  2. Land preparation before planting
  3. General weed control in agricultural fields
  • Weeds Controlled
  1. Couch grass (Digitaria spp.)
  2. Sedges (Cyperus rotundus)
  3. Annual grasses
  4. Biannual grasses
  5. Young broadleaf weeds

  • Application Guidelines
  1. Apply when weeds are actively growing
  2. Spray evenly on foliage for full coverage
  3. Do not spray to the point of runoff
  • Avoid spraying:
  1. Stressed weeds (drought, pests, disease)
  2. Recently cut or grazed weeds
  3. Allow weeds to regrow before application if previously disturbed
  4. Rainfall within 6 hours may reduce effectiveness
  5. Heavy rain within 1 hour may require reapplication

  2. Add the recommended amount of KAUSHA 480SL
