- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
- FRESHGUARD 500EC is a fungicide for the effective control of Botrytis (Grey Mold) in roses. It provides reliable disease protection through preventive and curative activity, helping to maintain healthy plants and high-quality blooms. FRESHGUARD 500 EC is rapidly absorbed by plant tissues and offers protection against fungal infection by interfering with essential sterol production required for fungal growth and development.
- MODE OF ACTION
- FRESHGUARD 500EC contains imazalil as its active ingredient. Imazalil is an imidazole fungicide in Fungicide Resistance Action Committee FRAC Group 3. Imazalil acts by inhibiting C14-demethylase, a key enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption of ergosterol production impairs cell membrane formation and function, leading to abnormal fungal growth and inhibition of mycelial development. Imazalil exhibits protective, curative, and systemic activity, providing effective control of susceptible fungal pathogens by preventing spore germination, fungal growth, and disease development.
