- MODE OF ACTION
- Mancozeb is a dithiocarbamate fungicide in FRAC Group M03. Mancozeb acts primarily as a protective contact fungicide with multi-site activity. It interferes with multiple enzyme systems in fungal cells by reacting with sulfhydryl (-SH) groups involved in essential metabolic processes. This disrupts respiration, energy production, and other vital cellular functions, inhibiting spore germination and fungal growth. Mancozeb forms a protective barrier on plant surfaces, preventing the establishment and spread of fungal diseases and reducing the risk of resistance development due to its multi-site mode of action.
