  • PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
  • PARASTAR 200SL is a non selective post emergence herbicide for the control of shrubs (broad leaved weeds & grass) in maize (minimum tillage).
  • Mode of Action
  • Paraquat dichloride is a fast-acting, non-selective contact herbicide with no residual soil activity. It acts primarily on the green parts of plants by interfering with the photosystem I during photosynthesis. This disruption leads to the formation of highly reactive oxygen species, which rapidly damage and destroy plant cell membranes. As a result, the affected tissues lose moisture quickly, causing visible scorching, desiccation, and rapid death of exposed plant parts. Since paraquat is not translocated within the plant, its activity is limited to the areas it directly contacts.

  • Mixing Instructions
  1. Fill the spray tank halfway with clean water
  2. Add the recommended amount of PARASTAR 200SL
  3. Top up with water to the required level
  4. Agitate thoroughly to ensure uniform mixing
  5. Spray immediately after preparation

  • Application Guidelines
  1. Apply when weeds are young and actively growing
  2. Target weeds below 15 cm in height for best results
  3. Ensure uniform spray coverage on foliage
  4. Avoid spray drift to desirable crops
  5. Do not spray in windy conditions
  6. Replanting can be done 4 hours after application
  • Integrate with:

  2. Crop rotation
  3. Good agronomic practices
