- FOSCAP TOP 250ME – Advanced Control of Soil Nematodes
- MODE OF ACTION
- Fosthiazate is an organophosphate nematicide in Insecticide Resistance Action Committee IRAC Group 1B, and Abamectin, an avermectin insecticide and nematicide in IRAC Group 6. Fosthiazate acts through contact and systemic activity by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme essential for normal nerve function in nematodes. This disruption of nerve transmission causes paralysis, reduced feeding, and eventual death. Abamectin acts through contact and stomach activity by activating glutamate-gated chloride channels in nerve and muscle cells, increasing the flow of chloride ions and disrupting nerve signal transmission. This results in paralysis, cessation of feeding, and death of susceptible nematodes. Together, the two active ingredients reduce nematode activity and feeding, protect roots from damage, and improve root development and crop performance.
