- MODE OF ACTION
- Monosultap is a nereistoxin analogue insecticide in Insecticide Resistance Action Committee IRAC Group 14, while Buprofezin is a thiadiazine insect growth regulator in IRAC Group 16. Monosultap acts primarily through contact and stomach activity by blocking nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect nervous system, disrupting nerve impulse transmission and causing paralysis and death of susceptible insects. Buprofezin acts by inhibiting chitin biosynthesis, preventing the formation of a normal exoskeleton during molting. It primarily affects immature stages of insects, disrupting development and preventing successful emergence into adults. In addition, Buprofezin reduces egg viability and reproduction in certain insect species. These active ingredients provide complementary control through nervous system disruption and growth regulation, resulting in effective management of susceptible insect pests.
