- MODE OF ACTION
- Spirodiclofen is a tetronic acid derivative acaricide in Insecticide Resistance Action Committee IRAC Group 23. Spirodiclofen acts primarily by inhibiting acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), a key enzyme involved in lipid biosynthesis in mites. This disruption of lipid production interferes with energy storage, cell membrane formation, growth, and development. Spirodiclofen is mainly active against eggs, larvae, and nymphal stages of mites, reducing reproduction and preventing normal development into adults. Affected mites gradually cease feeding, exhibit impaired growth, and eventually die, resulting in long-lasting control of mite populations.
