- MODE OF ACTION
- Fosthiazate is an organophosphate nematicide in IRAC Group 1B, while Abamectin is an avermectin insecticide/nematicide in IRAC Group 6.
- Fosthiazate acts primarily through contact and systemic activity by disrupting nerve transmission in nematodes through inhibition of acetylcholinesterase, leading to paralysis, reduced feeding, and eventual death. Abamectin acts through contact and stomach action by affecting the nervous system of pests and nematodes. It stimulates glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing paralysis, cessation of feeding, and death of susceptible organisms. Together, the active ingredients reduce nematode activity and feeding, protect roots from damage, and improve root development and crop performance.
